Enabling multilingual communication for MSIF’s global community
Services: Audio-visual localisation, Human translation and consultancy
Industries: Government and NGO, Life sciences

The MS International Federation (MSIF) is a global network of 48 multiple sclerosis organisations, people affected by MS, volunteers and staff from around the world, whose vision is of a world without MS.

Getting the Message Out
In advance of the annual World MS day, MSIF needed help with translation of written materials, as well as voiceover and subtitling of their audiovisual content into multiple languages.
They also have two monthly newsletters, MS Connections and MS Research News, which they wanted to translate for their global readership.
For each batch we delivered, MSIF provided us with clear feedback on tone and style, which we incorporated back into deliveries, as well as using to build highly customised terminology banks and language-specific guidelines for work going forward.

Our Expertise
As the language used for their content required sensitivity and experience, it was essential not only for our linguists to have sector expertise, but to build up familiarity and understanding of MSIF’s content specifically. As such, during the first year of our relationship, MSIF sent us batches of English content on a rolling basis, which we translated and delivered to pre-agreed timelines. For each batch we delivered, MSIF provided us with clear feedback on tone and style, which we incorporated back into deliveries, as well as using to build highly customised terminology banks and language-specific guidelines for work going forward.
We now have a pool of regular linguists who are very familiar with MSIF’s tone of voice, preferences, and the sensitive nature of the content for those who are living with MS.
We continue to support MSIF with all their multilingual content, across media, both for World MS Day and other ongoing requirements.
