London Greets Houston

When GHWCC CEO and Founder Suzan Deison took a Chamber delegation to Aberdeen, Scotland, Guildhawk CEO Jurga Zilinskiene invited her to extend the visit to London in order to meet and develop business partnerships in the capital.

The delegation included representatives from many of Houston’s major businesses including Texas Medical Center, Houston International Airport, energy firms, retailers and educational establishments. The business leaders were keen to learn what organisations in London were doing in their sectors to boost bilateral trade and empower women.

Our Expertise

To ensure that every hour of the 2-day visit was used to best effect, Guildhawk arranged a series of matchmaker meetings that included visits to the HQs of British retail icon M&S, BUPA, Shell International and Thomson Reuters. Of course, no visit to London is complete without sampling some of the rich local heritage, so with that in mind, the delegation also met the Lord Mayor at Mansion House and toured the Bank of England. The finale was a dinner with talks focusing on female entrepreneurship and empowerment by Carol Rosati of Harvey Nash and Kerri McKechnie, founder of Entrepreneur Academe, in the grand surroundings of the National Liberal Club.

The GHWCC later invited Jurga Zilinskiene to make a reciprocal address at their annual conference in Houston and Guildhawk arranged a delegation of leading businesswomen to accompany her on the trip.
