Specialist subtitles
With an exciting new documentary, ‘My Shocking Story; Half Man Half Tree’, about to launch, Discovery required subtitles for their English-language viewers to understand the Indonesian and Romanian speakers featured in the film. One sequence was narrated in the Sundanese dialect of Indonesian, a variant of the language spoken by just 15% of the country’s population. Not only that; it also contained detailed technical terminology as it described a medical operation.
We provided linguists with the medical experience required to perform technically accurate translations, who could also work in a less-spoken dialect of the source language.
