On International Women’s Day 2021, I clicked a headline and froze. There was my name alongside Ada Lovelace, Hedy Lamarr, and other luminaries in a list of “8 Women Who Changed Tech History.”
That moment took me back to where it all began. In 2001, I was a 24‑year‑old law student with a vision to close language gaps in the world. I started Guildhawk from a small London office above a café with £13,000 I’d saved and a second‑hand PC I’d picked up on Tottenham Court Road. What I didn’t know then was that the real magic wouldn’t come from technology, it would come from people.

The sensational clients, visionary partners and Guildhawk’s amazing people powered every step of this adventure. Twenty‑five years on, we’re celebrating a journey that feels like a thriller, comedy, adventure movie packed into one.
From innovative start-ups that became unicorns like Vinted and NordVPN to some of the world’s biggest companies, we’ve helped more than 4,100 organisations expand globally and stay compliant. We’ve taken on challenges that once felt like science fiction, training Amazon’s Alexa to speak new languages, naming breakthrough medical devices for global markets, and sending a team of linguists to President Mikhail Gorbachev’s 80th birthday gala at the Royal Albert Hall.
Early recognition came when I won the Shell LiveWIRE Young Entrepreneur Award in 2003, which propelled us forward and led to Guildhawk becoming a trusted supplier to Shell.

One of the greatest joys of our journey has been helping nearly 200 young people begin their careers. When you give young talent space to try, guidance, and a safety net, they flourish. Watching your people rise from interns to leaders is humbling. In the era of AI, this matters more than ever. Young people don’t need idols. They need room to explore, the belief that they can shape the future, and most importantly real jobs.
Looking ahead, I’m excited about the adventure that awaits us. The era of human–AI symbiosis is here, and it’s pushing us into a future where technology can elevate people. Contrary to popular believe, young people are amazingly positioned to step up because they grew up with tech, and understand its capabilities.
Since 2001, we recognised the colossal language challenge that humans alone cannot resolve. People need tools to be more productive. That’s why we created the safety and security award-winning GAI Translate, the peak of today’s AI translation because it solves the problems of hallucinations synonymous with LLMs.

In the near future, quantum computing will take us to new heights. Quantum‑enhanced AI will unlock precision and understanding that current models, even the best ones, simply cannot reach. Guildhawkers are now preparing for this leap, turning tomorrow’s breakthroughs into real advantages for our clients, building a world where communication is crystal clear.
