The Challenge
A global pharmaceutical company engaged Guildhawk to support an investigation into alleged misconduct by a former consultant.
The matter involved millions of words of emails and call transcripts across three languages, managed within Relativity. The translation available within the existing workflow was insufficient where communications contained nuance, ambiguity and apparently coded language.
The client needed multilingual evidence to be processed efficiently without compromising confidentiality, privacy, security or evidential integrity.
The Solution
Guildhawk provided a specialist multilingual layer within the client's e-discovery workflow, principally supporting the Processing, Review, Analysis and Production stages of the Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM). These stages cover preparing electronic information, assessing its relevance and significance, analysing evidence and producing it in defensible formats.

The lawyers retained responsibility for relevance, privilege and the investigation itself. Guildhawk provided the linguistic expertise and assurance needed to make multilingual material reliably reviewable and, where required, suitable for evidential use.
Security and assurance
The highly confidential nature of the investigation made information security integral to the solution.
Guildhawk has maintained ISO 27001 certification since 2014 and currently holds ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification. GAI Translate operates within a private Azure environment, while Guildhawk's assurance processes provide for named expert sign-off and retained records of who translated, revised and approved critical material.
This provided the client with a controlled and auditable route from multilingual source data to AI-assisted translation, expert verification and certified evidence.
