Guildhawk celebrates Professor Amanda Murphy's new chapter at StoryFutures

LONDON / EGHAM - Guildhawk congratulates Executive Film Producer, Professor Amanda Murphy, a member of our Advisory Board, on her new appointment as the new Co-Director of StoryFutures.

This milestone appointment, effective January 2026, sees the BAFTA-winning producer and media visionary take the helm of the UK’s leading force in immersive storytelling alongside Professor Peter Richardson. For Guildhawk, a global leader in AI language technology, the news marks a significant moment for the "Createch" sector, a field where Murphy and Guildhawk have long collaborated to bridge the gap between human creativity and artificial intelligence.

A partnership built on innovation

Professor Murphy’s relationship with Guildhawk spans years of pioneering work. As a member of the Guildhawk Advisory Board, she has provided invaluable expertise on media production, branding, and the ethical integration of technology in the arts.

Most recently, in January 2026, Guildhawk joined forces with Murphy at the UKRI CDT in AI for Digital Media Inclusion showcase. The event, hosted at Google’s London headquarters, highlighted a shared mission: ensuring that the AI-enabled future is inclusive, multilingual, and representative of all voices.

Leading the "AI-Ready" Generation

As Co-Director, Professor Murphy will oversee the StoryFutures Strategic Business Unit (SBU), focusing on:

• AI skills training: Launching initiatives like the "AI-ready Producer" programme to future-proof the creative workforce.
• Creative technology: Scaling R&D projects that utilize Virtual Production and Augmented Reality to reimagine history and storytelling.
• Inclusion: Building frameworks that ensure new technologies are accessible regardless of language or background—a core value shared by Guildhawk’s GAI Translate technology.

From 'Big Brother' to big data 

Murphy’s storied career - from founding some of the UK’s most successful IP like Supernanny and Big Brother to leading the UK’s largest immersive storytelling project, StoryTrails - has always been about capturing the human experience. At StoryFutures, she will now apply that same passion to the "Final Pixel" partnership and the CoSTAR National Lab at Pinewood Studios.
